We're a 55-acre certified organic specialty salad green and herb farm tucked away in the friendly folds of the Northumberland Hills - east of Toronto, west of Kingston, in southern Ontario, Canada. All our 25 acres of fields, most of which are in alfalfa and pasture, are certified organic as are all our crops and herbal products.
Nature bestows us (by and large) with the ideal cold winters and hot summers - combined with glacial till sandy loam soil - for growing salad greens, specialty beets & carrots and a number of culinary and medicinal herbs, especially our favourite lavender. Our hoophouse enables us to extend our growing season into March, April, November and December.
In 2009, look for our salad greens, herbs and other market produce at the Riverdale Farmers Market in Toronto (Tuesdays, 3 - 7pm, May to October) and Don Valley Brickworks Farmers Market (Saturdays, 8am - 1pm, May 24 to November). You will also find our produce at a few select restaurants and organic food shops in Toronto and Northumberland County.
